The largest dock in Italy, and incidentally the Mediterranean, is to be constructed near Naples. A decree has been signed conceding to that city the right of carrying on the necessary constructional works in the harbour. 'The total cost' is not to exceed ' 50,000,000 lire (a lire, roughly, is equal to 9Jd.)„ to which the State will contribute 22.000,000 lire in 60 annual instalments. All the works aro to be commenced at lafcset within six months after the declaration of peace, and to be finished within six years. After sixt years all tho works aro to become the property of the State without further payment. 1
