THE FRENCH MISSION
The time of the arrival • of the French Mission in Wellington is not yet settled quite definitely, l'ho members of the mission: headed by General Pau, (ire to reach Wanganui on Saturday, and it is possible, that they , will motor through to Wellington on Sunday. If thoy do not rcacli this city on Sunday, they will arrive here on Monday morning. A civic reception is'to bo tendered to the distinguished visitors, md the time has been fixed tentatively «it 10 o'clock on Monday morning The* Mayor of Wei-, iington has. asked if tho members of the mission will 'be able to attend a civio luncheon on the same day. The Government is arranging for a gathering to bo held in the . Wellington Toivn Hall in honour of the visitors on January 13, after their return from the South, Island. The Acting Prime Minister (Sir James Allen), who is at present in the South Island; has arranged lo retu.-n here on Sunday in order to welcome the mission, lie will go south with General Fa.Ui on Monday, and will accompany the visitors to Akaroa, where they will spend a day -among tho old French settlers and their descendants. 1
