The position in regard lo the tramways dispute is that the union states that it is prepared to meet the employers in accordance with tho request of the Minister, provided such conference takes place immediately. The union further states that it is willing to resume normal running provided nil tho men suspended or dismissed since December 14 are unconditionally .eiustated in their former positions. Tho Town Clerk, in reply, states that before the council ca'n be (recommended /to takfi further action the members of the union must first revert to the running of the'cars to schedule time. If that course is followed steps will be taken to hold the conference.
