LORD JELLICOE'S VISIT NEW CENTRE OF NAVAL GRAVITY (Eec. December 27, 7.85 p.m.) London, December 23. The "Daily ExpressV naval correspondent, discussing Lord Jellicoo's visit to Australia, says:— "'ilany naval students nre of opiniun that the centre of naval gravity during the next few years will swin« to the Indian Ocean and the Southern Pacific. The immense potential wealth of India and Australasia must offer a temptation to a predatory enemy, and miiet bu defended. The policy of entrusting tho Dominions with their own naval defence may bring in India. M'e may get an Indian navy officered and manned by Indians; wo may eeo the growth during tho next decade of an Imporinl Admiralty, on which will be representatives from each Dominion,"— Aus.-N.Z.
