Sir James Allen forwarded the following reply:—"Tho people of New Zealand thank you for your Christmas message. With you they rejoice in tho knowledge that right has triumphed, and they remember with thankful pride the' part played by Australia and New Zealand in this tremendous war of principles. May the task of reconstruction, with winch our people aro faced, be met in tho same spirit of courage and determination as thiit which has (riven our troops victory against the implacable foe."
