STATEMENT BY THE UNTON COMPANY. Sydney, December 23. The manager of the Union Company denies the statement that the men irequired the company to indemnify their dependants in the event of an, outbreak of influen&a aboard the vessel, which request the company refused. The only direct application from the men .was for full pay in the event of quarantine and ordinary pay for those contracting the disease, which the company has agreed to. _It is now- hoped that'a settlement will be readied to-day.—Press Assn,
