PICTURE SHOW HOURS

THE GOVERNMENT'S DECISION. The question of the control of picture shows under the legislation passed by Parliament last session enjoining the closing of theatres except during specified hours of the day was considered by Cabinet yesterday.

The Minister of Public Health (the Hon. G. \V. Russell) said that: "the matter has been fully considered, and the decision of the Government is that no action be taken in the matter." The Minister was asked to explain precisely the meaning of'the term "no action." . Mr. Eussell: It means that tho law stands. "Then'prosecutions will follow in the ordinary course if there is a breach of the law?" • Mr. Eussell: I am not going to say anything about that.
