MAGISTRATE'S COURT
SEAMEN IN TROUBLE.
The proceedings at the Magistrate's Court on Saturday morning woro presided over by Mr. F. V. Frasier, S.M. Two senmefi off :in overseas vessel', named John Donogan and Harry Mulholland, were charged with drunkenness. In addition, Donogan was charged , with resisting Constable Cossgrovo in the execution of his duty, and Mnlhollnnd mis accused of having made use of obscene language. After evidence had been heard, from which it appeared that Donovan caused a good deal of trouble, His Worship imposed a fine of £b, in default ono month's imprisonment, in each case. Another seafaring man named William Tonner was accused of having) acted as iigent for the purpose of procuring liquor for a Boldier, but though he denied the offence he was held to be guilty, and was fined £1,. in default seven days' imprisonment. Tohn William Dawson, who pleaded guilty to n particularly gross indecent action, vras lined .610, in default ono mouth's imprisonment. For insobriety, Mary M'Abinus was ordered to pny 10s. medical expenses, nnfl Mark Tuite and John Patrick Downey were each fined 10s.
