Several outstanding mimes of tho Wellington Chess Club's championship tourney have been played off during the past fortnight, and, there are now only seven fixtures outstanding. In playing > off the tie for the club championship Mr. Davies defeated Mr. Mason by SJ games to IJ. He time,secures the muchcoveted "double," having won the handicap tournoy earlier in the season. Rolling was very lucky in getting third place, having won two games that he ehoiild Iwvo lost. Mr. Barnes, who now becomes the club's ex-champion, was not seen at his best. Ho is expected to do better justice to his great powers in the coming year.
