DURING INFLUENZA EPIDEMIC. By Telegraph—Pross Association. Auckland, December 20. Dr. Poinare, who has visited Maori kaiangas west of the Main Trunk railway between Aneklnnd nntl Wellington and also in the King Country and Thames districts, estimates the- influenza mortality amongst the. Natives in that area, which includes tho whole of the Taranaki province, at about four hundred nnd fifty. Probably tho toll of Maoris is ft, little short of one thousand. There are 7,000,000 farms in the United States.
