WADESTOWN VIGILANCE COMMITTEE

A meeting of residents and the Vigilance Committee was largely attended at St. Luke's Schoolroom, Wtulestown, on Wednesday,, to formally close matters down in. conncctirm with the recent epidemic. llr. S. George Nathan,, organiser, occupied the chair. .Up to date J!103 Us. '.Id. has been collected for the relief fund, and the accounts passed for payI mrnit- only total XlO 15s. Bd. . It was resolved to hold the balance of donations collected,'amounting lo over 4.'!)0. until i lie. end of January, to see if any help is recinirrd in the Wadestown district, the balance is then to be handed over to one nl' the city fluids. At no time was there any cause for alarm in this district, all lint halt' a dozen caws being of a very mild nature. The district was well organised at the start, and the helpers were easily able lo cope with tho outbreak. Special votes of thanks were passed-to the ladies of the committee, the stall' of the Telephone Ksclinnge, Commercial Travellers' Club, Phoenix Acr"led Water Co., vestry of SI. Luke's.
