1 PRESENTATION TO COLONEL . . MAURICE. A gathering of a very happy nature was held in the "C. Jl. Luke" Ward ut the Victoria Military Hospital last even, ins, the occasion being a meeting of expatients, patients, and friends, arranged by Mrs. &ob!e Cornish's Santa Clans Club, for the purpose of making a Christniiisfc presentation to Colonel and .Mrs. Maurice. v Tn asking Colonel Maurice to accept an illuminated address (inscribed with the names of many palienvs) and a hand-somely-framed picture, .Mr. Guy Munro spoke of the splendid work done by the colonel for his patients, all of whom were most grateful to him for his care and attention and many kindnesses. To Mrs. Maurice, who is associated with those assisting the returned soldiers, was presented a mitrble travelling clock. Colonel Maurice, in returning thanks, mentioned the excellent work done by Corporal and Mis. '!'. S. Cornish on behalf of the patients. They were both energetic aud cnlerpH:'u\' workers, who spared no effort I" ' "'c the lot of patients a linppy one. ''he Santa Clans Chiib concerts were nl\v:'\> keenly appreciated, and their suots«-iV, efforts in obtaining Christmas presents for the patients were deserving of the highest praise. A capital musical programme was provided by the following:—Mioses M'Enroe, M'lncrney, Cornish, and Alexander, Corporal Baker, and Messrs. Russell and E. Fuller.
