TERRITORIAL FORCE
THE ANNUAL CAMPS. The annual camp of thp Wellington units will open at TCarori Park on January 31. Two casual camps are to follow, extending until February 27. The conditions governing attendance at this camp arc tbV same as were in operation last year. Officers who wish to secure exemption must apply to district headquarters. Non-cnmmiwioned officers and men may be exempted if they are required for essential work, but their cmployprs will have -to satisfy the proup commander that the exemption is desirable. Defence Headquarters'renlivs thnt the shortage of labour, due to the absence of many men on active service, is still acute, and the general instruction riven to the group officers is that exemption from camp training is to be given wliPrever necessary. Territorial officers can no loii"pr be nven courses of training in the Expeditionary Force training camp'. But arrangements have been made for officers of secondary school cadets _ corps to take a course of phjysical training, hpi-inninsr on January 9j under the nhvMcat instructors at Trentham Camp. instructors are being held pending the return of the troops.
