TERRIER'S DEVOTION
PROTECTS MASTER'S DEAD BODY. An instance of the/faithfulness of the dog was ufforded at North Sydney some (lays ago, when a fox-terrier's fidelity led to the discovery of its master's dead body. Following his usual route to work, Alfred Turner, of North Sydney, was walking through a scrub near the Suspension Bridge, and on several mornings a dog stood in his track, and persistently barked at him. At first he took no notice, but on Thursday morning he approached the dog, which immediately retreated into tliu scrub. Turner followed, and suddenly came upon the dead bodr of a man. L'ho animal growled as Tiuwr approached the body, lie then communicated with the police, who on arrival had to coax the dog before it would allow Lhoni to lake charge of tho body. It is believed to be that of a travelling tinker recently seen in the neighbourhood, who is described as being about 55 years of age, sft. 'Jin. in height, of medium build, and clean-shaven. Death' is attributed to haemorrhage of the brain.
