'The Live Stock Division of the Agricultural Department gives the following ■remedy for the small brown lice fre-
V ! quently found on cows:—"On a fine dry j>.day wash the animals veil all over with i H a strong solution of. soap and water, and .■after they are dry apply a-mixture of : h'sh-oil, 8 parts, and petroleum, 1 part. ■: After the oil has been on for hventy- .; four hours it should be scraped off with ■•fi, piece of hoop-iron, which will aid the ; ;• /hair to return to its normal appearance. 'Should any lice hatch out after this i- treatment a. further application of the , oil and petroleum should be given, but generally the one application is quite i." sufficient."
