I Auckland, December 11. : At the Supreme Court the hearing of the charges connected with the recent burglaries in the. city was continued. James Dave-rn, Edward .7. M'Lellan, and iWalter N. Papesch wore found guilty of breaking and entering. Sentence was deferred. Patrick Gunn was acquitted of 'breaking and entering and theft.' The Judge warned the jury against acting on the uncorroborated evidence of an alleged accomplice. Accused pleaded guilty (to a charge of receiving, a.n,d was remanded. ;:' For an assault on a constable at (Hikurangi, William M'Elligot and Thomas Pickles were placed on probation for two years, ordered, to. take out prohibition orders for two years, pay jE2O each towards the cost of the prosecution, and pay the constablo £Z 6s. for damaged, clothes. , . Auckland, .December 12. ; At the Supreme Court to-dny Ernest M'h'enzie was admitted to probation for •bree years for .attempted false pretences. The evidence showed that the accused consigned a motor-cycle by railway, and jitter- removing it from the stulion -without ' the knowledge of the /officials, put in a claim for ,670, subsequently withdrawing the claim when asked for certain., ..particulars, no was also ordered to pay £V 10s. towards the cost of the prosecution, and ,£l9 to the original owners of the machine.,
