FIRE AT FOXTON
SEVERAL BUILDINGS DESTROYED. By Telegraph—Press Association Foxton, December 12. Shortly before 3 o'clock this 'morning, a fire destroyed Hnmor's Picture Theatre, -''Admoro's (painter and paperhanger) shop and dwelling and contents. Longney's billiard saloon (owned by Hairier),, and an unoccupied cottage (owned by Ilnmer). and a storage shod and contents lit the rear of Osley's grocery store. The five started in the picture theatre, which had been closed down during the epidemic. Its origin' is a mystery. A block of wooden shops adjacent iii the main street, narrowly escaped destruction. The effort made* to check the conflagration was of little avail, as the i town is without a water supply or lire brigade. The insurances and losses are not yet obtainable.
