AGAINST TRANSFER OF QUARANTINED SOLDIERS. By Telegrapli—Press Xssociation. Masterton, December 12. The Masterton Borough Council and tho Wairarapa Patriotic Association have sent strongly worded protests to the Acting Prime Minister against the transfer of Dunedin quarantined soldiers to Featherston Camp. It reported that sevoral of these broke camp to-day. Our Featherston correspondent, writes that considerable feeling has been aroused in the district by reason of tho,Defence Department utilising the military camp for the purpose of accommodating V.D. cases. Tho first detachment from Quarantine Island (Port Chalmers) arrived at the Featherston railway station on Wednesday evening, being met by a motor lorry and conveyed to tho camp. The men were in a very hilarious condition. Tho V.D. trouble at Featherston is causing indignation throughout the Valley, says our Greytown correspondent. The Chamber of Commerce and Borough Council aro both protesting.
