■MEETING OF THE COUNCIL. At the fortnightly meeting of the Karori Borough Council, held last evoniiic, the Mayor (Mr. B. G. 11. Burn) presided and there were present Councillors A. Hamilton, W. Skeeg, E-, T. Pell.W. G. Brndnock, B. L. Tingeyj ..The town clerk reported that the council having decided to dose the Belgian Belief Fund, and tho -Wounded Soldiers and .Sailors and Dependants' Fund, he had prepared a statement •showing theamounts collected. The funds were'started in .Tune, 11)15. and the total- collected amounted to .£528 135. «d., of. which £m was paid .into tho BcWian. Jielief Fund and .£2l 12s. to the. Wounded Soldiers, Sailors, and Dependants' Fund, and Is. •lid,, was expended in postage. The Mayor _ eaid that, the results were very creditable to the borough, and slated that one , contributor had given <£1 per month from th n time the collections were jilarled. Mr. .1.
