THE WEATHER
F6RECAST AND SUMMARY AT 4 P.M. YESTERDAY. Present indications are for strong southerly winds, decreasing everywhere shortly, and changing , to north-wester-ly in and southwards of Cook Strait. Weather cold and changeable generally, with passing showers in northern t and east coast districts, but a temporary improvement is probable soon. Barometer rising, but, falling in the south shortly. Cold, changeable, and showery conditions have been experienced generally, but heavy rain fell during Monday 'night in various parts of the North Island.
