YACHTING
The first "points" races of the Port Nicholson Yacht Club were held on Saturday. The day wns marked by a fresh breozo amounting to a gale in the squall. A crowd of between two and three hundred peoplo watched tho starts and tho finishes from the end of the Clyde Quay Wharf. Tho results were as underFirst Class: Viola, handicap 25min., 1; Rona, lllmin., 2;-Waitangi, 6cr., 3; Atalanta, 17min.; Kotiri, 6inin. The second class raco resulted as under:—Rawene, handicap lmin., 1;' Gnlatea, scr., 2; Venus, flmin., 3j AVairere, 3min.; lolanthe, imin. The third class race was abandoned;.only one yacht boing on the line at" the starting time. The heavy weather no' doubt kept the Evans ]tay .Loats n't home.-' Mr. ,T. GendnU'filled the office'of judge,'starter,'and timekeeper. \
