Mr. Justice Cooper remarked that' the, list, .though''for no apparent reason, was larger than aiiy brought before' a grand jury during .the two years. A number of ease:; on the list have been adjuurncd till .'February, on account of witnesses, being 'sufferers from influenza. These' cases. include' charges of niurder and., attempted murder. The following hiivo been sentenced:— Wilfred Martin',, n.lias Baker, alias Ashford, on' thirteen, charges of, forgery, uttering, .and.false .pro!vn:es, also theft of a stallion and bridle;, two years' imprisonment and .reformative treatment for a period not. exceeding three 'scars. Tho recont scries of burglaries in tlio city was recalled by.the. r.ppearance of Jaines Davorn, .Edward ■.lames M'G'lclland, diaries' Frederick.' and Walter.
