THE MEDICALLY UNFIT

Sir,—Allow me to cxpr&ss my appreciation of your correspondent who signs himself "Let the Truth Stand." T had noted with disgust Mrs. ICineton-Parkes's statement about the sons of the mothers of this country, and I was glad that such an exposure of her unreliable statements should be made so convincingly in the columns of Tire Dominion'. Everywhere, and from all parts, tho soldiers of New Zealand have won the highest praise for efficiency, courage, and endurance. Sir James Allen has said: "The generals would give their eyes tu have such men a? New Zealnnders in their divisions." Mr. Massey and Sir Joseph Ward said "that the Now Zenland soldiers gave them the highest sense of pleasure that they, too, themselves were New Mr. W. A. ilolman, the Premier of New South Wales, in a cablo message to tho Prime Minister of New Zealand, said: "New Zealand soldiers have displayed every military virtue, dauntless courage, nnd unfailing discipline." Yet Mrs. Kmc ton-Parltes goes into, the drawing-rooms of the mothers of New Zealand, and tells them that all the ailments to which human llcsli is heir are due to over-in-dulgence in alcoholic liquors. I agree with your correspondent that this is/an insult to tho mothers and a reflection upon the men.—l am, etc..
