"BRITISH DAY"
AN IDEA FOR THE SCHOOLS. The celebration of British Day in America was mentioned by Mr. Ell in tho Houso of Representatives yesterday, Mr. Ell read tho news cablo message in the morning newspapers, paying special attention to the references to British val-, our and constancy in the war, and sug* jested to tho Minister that the message, should be read to the children of all tha schools, with the object of instilling intoi their minds pride in their race, and in the magnificent achievement of their: forces throughout tho whole world. The Minister (the Hon. J. A. Eanan) said that in his opinion the most cft'ectivo way of giving effect to tho suggestion would be to publish tho statement in tho School Journal, which was read by all children, and which went into every home. Mr. Ell: It will bo stale by that time. • Tho Minister said that he considered that this _ would 'be the most effective way of doing what was proposed.
