PAPAROA MINE

STRIKE STILL ON. Some seven weeks ago the miners employed at the Paparoa mino (near Greymouth) struck over some minor grievance, and have not since resumed work. About a month ago the, Labour Department took action against the men for striking, but owing to a change in the Magistracy and to the epidemic the case has not been heard, and the men now declare that they will not resume until the case is settled one way or the other. According to late advices the case is likely to be given a hearing on Monday next.
