THE WEATHER
■ a FOREQAST AND SUMMARY AT 4 P.M. YESTERDAY. Present indications are for strong and squally south to south-east winds, and cold, ohangeable and Bhowery -weather generally. Heavy rain is probable about Cook Strait, and snow on higher levels in the northern part of the South Island. Barometer falling temporarily "'in the north and rising in the south. Oloudy, Unsettled, and squally weather has been experienced, and rain has fnllen generally. High westerly winds changed ,to oouthcrlies during Sunday night, bringing colder conditions. The barometer has risen in the south, but a secondary depression has apparently developed off Cape Egmont to-day. B. V. PEMBER.TON.
