One of tho most marvellous feats of salvage was the patching up of tho White Star liner Seuvic. which-nailed from London on November 21, via Panama, for Melbourne, Hobart, and 'Auckland, being due at the northern port about January 17. After discharging .part of her cargo she will proceed to Wellington; Lyttelton, and Port Chalmers, where she is. duo about the end of January to complete her discharge. The Seuvic some years ago wont on tho rocks on the coast : of - the English Channel, and was believed to be a total wreck. A salvage parly-com-menced operations, and the vessel was cut in.-, two, tho after part being towed safely to. where.. a. new- forepart was rebuilt.. Since then the vessel has seen 'much useful- service.
