Four Trentham-trained 'horses have been left in the Auckland Cun in Menelaus, Mascot, Bonnie Maid/ and- ltose Pink. They are all to make the trip, a Both Desert Gold and Killowen failed "to make the necessary acceptance for the Auckland Cup and Railway Handicap. It. was thought that Mr. J/wry might giro his mare a run. vu the Cup,*b';t apparently he considers the weight excessive. Mr. Lowry r.nd trainer F. Davis, arrived in Auckland last week from Sydney. 80-Peep's iiamo is missing from the list of acceptors for the Railway .Handicap, and the Bezonian filly .will probably be found racing at Awapuni on Boxing Day. Wrestler has been purchased from Sir George Clifford by Mr. W. B. Clarkson, a patron of J. Pearson's stable. The Antagonist horse, who was taken delivery of last week, is to be added to the list." Childwick -as a yearling was sold for GOOO guineas, which price was a record until that great mare Sceptre was sold for 10,000 guineas at the same age. .
