AMfANKEMENTS not complete. In the • House of Representatives on Saturday afternoon Mr. 6. V. Pearce (Patea) asked if the Prime Minister ha<l any information regarding the intentions of-the Imperial Government.in' the purchase of New Zealand meat. The producers ,would like to have definite informa.tion on'the point. The Prime 'Minister said that he had cabled to London several times asking that the matter should be* dealt with and the country told exactly what was proposed to be done. He still hoped that arrangements would be made to extend the meat purchase scheme for another full year. He thought that would ,be done, but he could not be absolutely certain until he received a treply from London. . . . Mr. Massey added that he ltadcabled urging the High Commissioner to expedite the arrangement. As soon .as definite information arrived it would be made public for the information of the producers throughout .New Zealand. Lifter in the daj* the Prime.
