The death occurred on "Wednesday of Mr. ,C If. Hienbei'ff," n well-known Martin borough resident, who leaves a widow and two children. The deceased was a .prominent Oddfellow, being secretary of (he local lodge and president of Ihe Wairarapn J'ast Grand Lodge of Oddfellows. He was a native of Copenhagen.
Mr. .f. M'Kiniioii, of Ponsonby, has received advice, that his son, Acting-Lieiitenant-Colonol Hugh E.. M'Kinnpn, was killed in action on. November 4. Deceased was born .at Darfield. Canter, bury, and went away with the Main Body a,s a second lieutenant. Prior to the waf he was in the Territorial Force, and also took an active part. in the Hoy Scoiit movement....He was at 'Gn.llipoli landing, and was- wounded.on 'the Peninsula when attached to the Welling-, ton IkUalion. Ho also suffered from enteric fever. Oil the Western front Lieu-tenant-Colonel M'Kinnon was twice wounded. A keen soldier, he was soon noted for promotion. In 19)5' he 'became \a full lieuitennnl.. Next he was appointed captain in the WelHi'gtnn-West' Coast Company, France. Shortly afterwards he received his major's commission.
