TENNIS
\t a meeting of Hie Management Committers of the Wellington Tennis Association several questions of interest to the members of city tennis clubs were discussed. After considering the entries tor the proposed regular inter-club mate hen it was decided that the entries for.the men's competition were not such as to make a competition possible. Two ladies competitions will be played however, one for the senior teams and one for seconrt mid third Rrade teams, some of which the committee will probably xegrade. Already there are some eleven teams entered, and it is hoped that still further entries will be received before, the comnetition, which is to consist of one round, is begun earlv in' February. Tt was decided to postpone the tournament which was to have been held at Christmas or New Tear on account of the. influenza enidemic, the continued bad weather, and (he likelihood of the return in the. near future of many soldier tennis players, who would probably take part in a tournament if tno can be held later in the season. Tt was suKKestpd that a one-day tournament at Day's Bay might be arranged for Anniversary Day.
