FOR CONVALESCENT SOLDIERS
A HANDSOME VOTE, At yesterday's, meeting of the Advisory Board of Patriotic Societies, it was decided, on tho motion of Mr. V. ,T. Earner,- to istriko a levy of .£SOO a year on the patriotic societies of the NorthIsland as a contribution to the Soldiers' Benefits Fund at Eotorua. Mr. Lanier stated that very good work was being done at Rotorun, and what funds they received: were well administered, but such funds fluctuated, '.they - never knew , whore they were. He mentioned that the Red Cross.Society contributed a sum of'.£sl)o a year to the fund.
