RECONSTRUCTION IN CANADA
WELLAND CANAL TO BE COMPLETED. (Rec. December 4, 7.20 p.m.) Ottawa, December 2. Tho Dominion Government announces that as part of its reconstruction programme it will complete the Welland Canal at a cost of four million sterling.— Aus.-N.Z. Cable Assn. [The Welland Canal connects Lake Ontario with Lako Erie. It is 26J miles, with a, depth varying from 14 to 25 feet.]
