Lieutennnt R. M. Watson, H.N.V.R., of Chrisrchiirch, is on a patrol ship. Major P. H. Buck, D.5.0., has been appointed Registrar nf No. 3 X.SI.G.FI. Lieutensmt A. .Oakley, Auckland Regiment, is doing work for the Ministry of Munitions. The Bishop of Nelson is stationed at Hie New Zealand Convalescent Hospital, Mornchurch. Mrs. R. W. Richards (Miss Elaine Raymond), who has bsen war-working at tho 3rd L.G.11. since the early days of the war, has been mentioned in dispatches. Captain W. H. Johnstone, R.A.M.C., of Wellington, is on the staff of Reading War Hospital. Second-Lieutenant ,T. P. Jarrett, Auckland Regiment, is attached for duty to the Intelligence Corps, British Army. Mrs. Macdonald, wife of LieutenantColonel W. M- Macdonald, of Dunedin, is doing hospital work in France. Mr. I. D. Shearer, of the Public Trust Office, Wellington, who is on transport duty, was in London last week. The Rev. R. Miller, who has been serving as ii private in the 'Wellington Regiment, has been appointed a chaplain to the forces. Mr. G. B. Taylor has gone into residence at Morton College, Oxford, under the Soldier and Sailor Scholarship scheme, and Mr. W. E. Acton has gone into residence ftt Christ Chinch. Nurses and students specially recommended by hospital authorities, matrons, and others, are being given a course of training by Dr. Truby King and one of ■ his New Zealand matrons at the. Babies of the Empire Society's Mothercraft Training Centre, 20-31 frebovir Road; linrl's Court. Already tho number of applicants is greater than .'the society can. find room or funds to accommodate.
