City Council suggesting (hat Christmas displays in shops should be prohibited on the ground that they causa congestion of traffic. The council decided that Ihe letter should be received. Dr. Chessonjs proposal to stop Father Christmas displays this year .is Tcsented by business people in the city. They say (hoy will willingly relinquish their Christmas trade/if it is necessary to do so on account of possible danger, but they do not think it is. necessary, and they .are asking that the question be further considered.
