The following are the litest quotations Tor Consols and Colonial Government Securities 'in comparison with those ruling last week:—

MONEY MARKET. The Bank of England discount rate on •January 12, 1917, was 5i per cent. On April 5 it was reduced to '5 per cent., at which flguro it has since stood. OPEN MARKET HATES. The opeji market discount rate for three months' bills is 3j per cent., as compered with H per' cent, last week and 4| per cent. ■ last year. Short loans aro quoted at 3i per cent., as'against i\ per cent. Inst week, and 4J cent, last year. COLONIAL AND OTHER PRODUCE. Butter and Chee;o.-No change. It is understood that the Government's purchase of the Argentine products Is only this season's output—about 10.0C0 tons. The Government has purchased the South Afrio,ap output, estimated at 1000 tons. Wheat and Flour—Quiet;, unchanged. Oafs—Firm. La Plata, on spot. 625. id. and 635. 6d... Peas and Beans—English beans are freely offered, and prices are easier. English peas are,weaker. New Zealand, steady, Sugar.—Unchanged.
