MAGISTRATE'S COURT
POLICE AND CIVIL CASES.
Mr. Frozen S.M., presided at the Magistrate's Court yesterday, and dealt with the police and civil cases. A waterside worker named Peter Kreyl was charged Hint' on November 27 he did commit the theft of two lints, two tins cocoa, one tin of milk, two Pieces of silk ribbon, and a quantity of kn:tting wool, from the steamer Kninlioi. the property of the Union Steam Nun Company. On the application of Injector Mar-sack the accused was remanded for .1 week. Michael O'Brien was further remanded for a week on a charge of unlawfully assaulting one John Condon on November 8. so as to cause him actual bodily harm. Ihe complainant was unable to appear. Bail _was allowed in def"ndait's own recognisance of £hd, conditionally on his reporting daily at the Mount Cook Police stnf-ion. For insobriety one first offender who fIM not appear had his bail of 10s. forfeited. CIVIL CASES. Judgment was given for plaintiff by default in the following cases:—Westknd Limber. Co., Ltd., v. A. In a judgment summons case William 0. R. White was ordered to pay E. T. Wynne-Bond ,£3S 14s. forthwith, in demult one month's imprisonment, warrant to be suspended so long as 10s. per month is paid. TENEMENT CASES. William Whito was ordered to give up possession of a tenement to William Fry Newcombe by December 13, and to pay £3 and costs £1 lGs. 6d. A. H. S. Lucas is. to deliver possession or a house to Captain T. B. Sewell by January 10, 1919, and pay costs ,£1 15s. L. M. Lauronson was ordered to give up possession of a tenement to A"nes Spencer by January 10, 1919, and pay £S, with costs ,£2 Is.
