FINANCE BILL PASSED

WAR AND PUBLIC WORKS LOANS

The Legislative Council met at 2.30 p.m. yesterday.

The Council wont into Committee on tlio Legislative Council Amendment Bill, which was reported after certain technical amendments had' been made at the suggestion of the Statues Revision Committee. The Bill was then read the third time, and passed. The Military Decorations and Distinctive Badges Bill was read a second time. The purpose of this Bill, which has passed the Lower House, is to prevent unauthorised persons from wearing military decorations, and it also contains clauses intended to protect the badge of the Returned Soldiers' Association. The Christ College Ordinance Amendment Bill was received from the Lower House'and rend a first time. At 4.14 p.m. the Council adjourned until 2.30 p.m. to-day.
