WARTIME PROFITS
AMENDING BILL IX FEDERAL HOUSE. (Rec. November 28, 8.5 p.m.) Melbourne, November 28. The Federal Treasurer, introducing the amending Wartime Fronts Bill, stated that in view of the necessities of the Treasury and the circumstances of certain businesses, it was considered that these profits were a legitimate source of revenue. The Bill frill increase the number of exemptions, including shipbuilding and mining industries other than coal, and will make concessions in regard to the investment of new capital. The Bill is retrospective to July 1, 1916. —■ Press Assn.
