The Rev. E. J. Tipler, military chaplain, of the Presbyterian' Church, Carterton, was wounded in the leg farly in November, in France. A cablegram received on Monday by -Mrs. Tipler stated that amputation had been necessary from tho knee, but he was 'doing well." Mr. Tipler left New Zealand as chaplain to tho Thirtieth Reinforcemout. Previously he had undergone training as u n.c.o. of the Thirty-first Reinforcement. Trouble arising from an injured knee caused the transfer.
