MEASLES ON THE MAKURA
By Tclcsraph—l'ross Association, Auckland, November 27. A message received here states that, though there arc 110 cases of influenza on the Makura, en route from Vancouver, measles are prevailing on that vessel. The Press delegates are passengers by the vessel.
In the House of liepresenlutives yesterday, the Minister of Public Health stated that if it should be discovered when the IJ.M.S. Makura arrived in Auckland that there was influenza on Iward, the ship and passengers would have to go into quarantine. Sir .lames Allen dealt with the question raised about the use of the quarantine station at Auckland. He said that if necessary he would have the Germans taken from the camp' at Motuihi and interned elsewhere. He had undertaken that the Defence Department would provide a eamp should one be required for quarantine purposes, either on Jlotuilii or elsewhere, a= the Health authorities might desire, and that the camp would bo ready for occupation io twentyfour hour's.
