It is officially announced that the "United Stifles Government will purchase eighty-three vessels, totalling approximately one million deadweight tons, from the International Mercantile Marine, thus preventing the ownership of the vessels passing into British hands. P. AND 0. LINE. (Rei\ November 27. 8.45 p.m.) Sydney, November 27. The early resumption of the P. and 0. mail service between England and 'Australia is anticipated. The Sydney agents have been advised that the new steamers, the jN'aldera and Narkunda,' 16,000 tons, were handed over a few days ago. Tlioy are now refitting for passenger service, and will bo ready shortly.—Press Assn.
PRINCE LINE MAY TRADE TO AUSTRALIA'.
(Rec. November 11, 8.15 p.m.) Melbourne, Noventbqr 27. It is reported that the Prince Line, of thirty-seven vessels, will possibly be transferred from the Mediterranean to the Australian service shortly—Press Assn.
