STEAMER. STRUCK BY LIGHTNING.
Washington, November 2C. The Navy Department announces that fourteen members of the crew, of the Americau steamer Dumaru, which was 1 struck by lightning and sunk on October. 10, off' Guam, have lai.ded at the Philippines. They spent .thirty-seven days iu an open boat, and eighteen men perished. The survivors were without food or water for ten days, and they rowed 1200 miles.—Aus.-N.Z. Cable Assn.
