BARBERS' SHOPS

Sir,—The barber shops, have been closed for over a woek now by order of the Health Department as a precaution to safeguard tue patrons of these establishments, but before they are opened again I should siiggiat tiiat they be properly ventilated and no new saloon startmjj. should be allowed not having at least one window.. I suggest that regulations should be issued by the Health Department to see that not more than a, certain number of chairs are allowed to be worked per certain space, the- saloon to be properly ventilated, and if possible to have a skylight or some means whereby a little fresh air and light may be ad» united. Some saloons have, of .course, windows, skylights, efes,, but if they jire opened by an assistant are closed very often by th* proprietor with a "how-dare-vou-let-in-fresh-air-here" look. I think if tlie authorities are anxious to safeguard the health of the barbers as well as the general public they should see that all barber shops are made fit for a man to work in.—l am, etc., , DOG SENSE.
