NEW OUTLOOK FOR HUMANITY
MR. LLOYD GEORGE ON AFTER-WAR IDEALS. London, November 24. Mr. Lloyd George, speaking at Wolvei'hnmpton, said the men who fought and made the new world possible were entitled to a full share in its gladness. The first thing was to put right the appalling waste of human material. The slums were not fit homes for the men who had won the war, nor nurseries for the children who would be the future Imperial race, The housing of J;ho people must bo a national undertaking, and it was essential to have a more intelligent agricultural policy. The land must be cultivated to its utmost capacity, and there must.be reclamation of land, afforestation, and better transportation. If the Government were unable to get along because of Parliamentary obstruction, he would again apneal to the people.—Aus.-N.Z. Cable Assn.
