ENDOWMENT FOR OXFORD UNIVERSITY. London, November 21. Oxford University has accepted an endowment of ,£25,000 for the establishment of a Marshal Focli Professorship of French Literature—Aus.-N.Z. Cnblo Assn. ■ '
Warder W. \V. Goddnrd, of the staff of the Terrace Gaol, lias succumbed to an attack of influenza. He participated in (he South African enmpaign of 1899-1900, and was afterwards in the Australian Navy. Ho leaves a widow and four young children.
