The influenza epidemic is still prevalent throughout the Wairarnpa, says our Mitsterton correspondent. 'It is being fought with the greatest energy and determination, and not without success. Although tho mortality has been fairly heavy, it has not been great compared with the number of cases under treatment. The majority of those who have succumbed to the scourge are males, which is largely due to the fact that heads of families havo gono to work before recovery, and have suffered a relapse. Numerous cases of acute hardship have been reported, but town and country settlers have combined to afford relief, and financial assistance is being given where required. The number of deaths so far reported in Mnstcrton and district is about thirty. Business places, which have heen closed for a week, will reopen on Monday.
