ACCIDENTS AND FATALITIES
' MAN DROWNS HIMSELF. A man named Thomas Edward Tolley, a storeman, residing atßosenealh, yesterday afternoon drowned himself at Kio Bay, a small inlet in tho vicinity of Evans Bay. Deceased, who was a married man with nine children, was observed making his way into the water fully clothed, but before intervention was possible the man was dead. Prompt restorative methods were applied,- but they were unavailing. The body was removed to tho Morgue by (he police. Tt is believed (lint deceased was worried by illness. An inquest will bo held. HOTEL PORTER HURLS HTMSELF - FROM BUILDING. A man named Arthur Jiggins, a returned soldier, who was suffering from influenza, jumped, from the lop of tho Grand Hotel yesterday afternoon.' Deceased was employed as a .porter in the hotel. No other particulars are available. An inquest will be told. SHUNTER. KILLED AT AUCKLAND STATION. Uy Telegraph.—Press Association. Auckland, November 21. Patrick Naughton, a' shunter, was killed instantly at the railway station this morning. He slipped in attempting to board a moving truck, nnd was thrown under the carriage 011 the adjoining line, his head being crushed.
