RETAIL PRICES
FISH, APPLES, AMD VEGETABLES. In connection with the Order-in-Conn. oil fixing the maximum retail price of vegetables, apples, and fish in the Wellington district, the Bo.n'd of Trade, in conjunction with the Labour Departrrfent, considers that the following prices should not be exceeded For all flai fish not exceeding Is. per lb. retail, and for all round fish not exceeding Bd. per lb. fresh or Is. per lb. smoked, with the exception of fresh. blue cod. which ia being distributed by the Labour Depart., ment, and which may be sold for lOd. Per lb- retail. The best Dualities of Dominion-grown apples should not ex. ceed Gd. per lb., and . American apples P.d. per lb., with other grades relatively lower^. As the Order-in-Council prohibits higher charges than those current on November 1, it is not intended nt present to lay down maximum prices for vegetables. The.Police authorities intend to take stringent action against anv dealers who fail to adhere to the conditions of the Order-in-Council.
