THOUSANDS COMING INTO THE FRENCH - LINES INDESCRIBABLE MISERY London, November 19. , A French communique states: "Thou-, saids of British, French, Russian, and j Italian prisoners are entering our lines in a state of indescribable misery.";— Aus.-N.Z. Cable Assn.-Eeuter. New Zealand prisoners of war are arriving in England. Sir Thomas Mackenzie (High Commissioner) and the New Zealand military authorities are arranging for their reception and comfort. In the Houso of Commons Lord Eobert Cecil said that tho armistice provided for the release of all imprisoned and, interned Armenians. The Entente would not permit a continuance of the evil. The Allies must secure thOjDardanellcs, and the Bosphorus must be made absolutely free. A League of Nations ought to deal with the future of the Armenians. The atrocities had air been ordered from Constantinople. The Turkish policy throughout had been to create disorder and then massacre. Turkey was how absolutely in our power and no longer able to. resist reform.—Aus.-N.Z, Cable A6sri. FINAL BURST OF BRUTALITIES. (Rec. November 20, 7.30 p.m.) London, November 19. Returned prisoners of war state that the brutalities against the British increased everywhere in the German camps during the three months prior to the armistice. Yorkshire soldiers say that they left 2500 out. of '1000 interned men at Cologne-too ill to move, mainly as the result of starvation, exposure, and punishments.—United Service.
